Aliona Ciobanu is a multidisciplinary artist and designer who graduated from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), graphic design department. Her work uniquely combines material investigations with sound research, allowing her to use materials as the primary voice to reflect on pressing political and societal issues. Her latest research investigates the multiple facets of memory, whether collective or digital, and its possible transfigurations in time.
Aliona Ciobanu (Chișinău, 1992) lives and works in The Hague. Her recent exhibitions include: Kunsthal Kloof, Utrecht (2025); DMW Gallery, Antwerp (2024); Het Hem, Amsterdam (2021) and Goethe Institut, Chisinau (2021).
