Leilei Wu develops a hybrid sculptural language in constant renewal through the fusion of organic forms and synthetic materials. She subverts material and computational realities to the point of condensing their shadows into metaphysical impressions, the result of a highly speculative approach, questioning new technologies of production, reproduction and distribution, and emphasising the exploration of their relationship with ecology and mythology.
Leilei Wu (ZheJiang, 1997) lives and works in Milan. Her recent exhibitions include: Improper Walls, Vienna (2024); Zachęta National Art Gallery, Warsaw (2024); MOCA, Brescia (2024); Chengdu Biennial, Chengdu (2023); Like A Little Disaster, Polignano a Mare (2023); Good Sessions, Paris (2023); Simulacra Gallery, Beijing (2023): Design Museum Den Bosch, ‘s-Hertogenbosch (2023): Kunsthalle Zürich, Zürich (2022).
